Prickly pears ( Sabres in hebrew )

Well, Danielle has her point: I didn't write for a long time and since I lecture every one to do so I will join the efforts.
Since the time we moved to Sentinel we saw a big plant of prickly pears when we went through the field that belongs to the water company. So every time when we saw the fruit we thought to come back and pick some. The people who leave in the back have two small dogs who bark every time we were inspecting the plant, but those people said that they also take from the plant and even offered us a long stick.
Anyway till this year we didn't execute the plan, we were too tired and sweaty from the walk, so a few weeks ago when Ari was at work I when there with leather gloves and a few trader Joe brown bags and brought home a lot. I sat outside the garage with two bowls full of water and pilled them and froze many for later use. The next day I went again and brought back more fruit and 3 small plants which I plant in a few locations. I plant one looked like a head of Mickey Mouse but the strong wind which blew tore one of the ears :(

Anyway, on Friday we tasted from the frozen fruit and I though it was delicious although it looked like Jelly since the cells broke from the freezing process.
So today, Abba and I went straight to the plant with leather gloves, shovel, long bbq knife and fork and we brought back 2 plants which Ari planted and more fruit which I cleaned.
You can see the pictures. Too bad Mattan & Danielle cannot taste the fruit.
